It is possible to direct video from an iPod (up to V.5) to a monitor via the yellow RCA video input socket.
This would be the same for a computer monitor with a composite video input capability or a TV monitor which would have the same type of connection. In other words, it should automatically replace the picture on the screen with what is output from the iPod, in the same way as a camcorder would if the cables are plugged into the monitor/TV.
Needless to say it is absolutely necessary for your iPod to support video as not all do.
Secondly it is necessary to have some pictures, videos or podcasts stored on your iPod and lastly, it is necessary to go to the iPod menu, select video settings, switch video ON and select TV signal for the appropriate type of monitor being either PAL (most of the world) or NTSC (America).
